as you guys probably know, richie and i had the AMAZING opportunity to attend WPPI convention last week in las vegas! surrounded by some of the very best wedding photographers from around the world, we were able to attend classes and to see and feel more product that we could have ever imagined! tofurious provided us with one free pass to this amazing conference, allowing us to be able to attend. we learned SO much, we just can’t say thank you enough to lawrence of tofurious! it was a little overwhelming, though, to see SO many vendors so i am sooo glad we took as many pictures as we did so that we can go back and remember everything! so here are just a small percentage of our shots…

yesterday, the rain won. meghan and wes and i had planned on an afternoon belly shoot and after a GORGEOUS day, the afternoon gave way to some massive rain! so we tried again today and success!! meghan and wes are expecting their baby girl, madelyn, in a few weeks, and they were just the cutest things today! meghan has the most gorgeous sweet lil belly and she looked so beautiful today! they were even game for me requesting to shoot at concrete walls and blue garage doors! meghan and wes, i had a great time with you guys today! and i can’t WAIT to see your sweet madelyn very soon!!
i LOVE when i see something in my head and it turns out just the way i saw it….. i saw this blue door on the way to our shoot and i thought “i can soooo see her in front of that!” and THIS is what i wanted! doesn’t she look GORgeous!?

.a thousand words of desert love.

as most of you know, richie and i headed to vegas this past week to attend WPPI, a huge wedding photographer convention (thank you tofurious for allowing us to be able to attend!!), just one week before our wedding. richie and i debated for several days if we should take my dress and do a session in the desert, knowing he’d be seeing my dress before the wedding. it was a quote from our good friend elizabeth pellete who said it best…. “ohh Just take the dress and do the photos.. it will be so worth it one of those once in a lifetime opportunities.. really… and I am sure you will still take Richies breath away on your actually wedding day but not because what you are wearing but because of who you are and how lucky he is to be having you as his wife..” soooo, we decided that we really wanted to take advantage of the amazing location we’d soon be at. once i heard that shannon hollman, of thousand words photography, was going to be attending WPPI also, i KNEW she was the one i wanted to photograph us. i knew it was asking alot for her and her husband jeremie to take time away from the conference to do this for us, but they were very willing to do this for us. since this was the first time richie had seen my dress, we took the time to have make that viewing very special, by having richie meet jeremie out by the pool area at MGM grand and then once i was ready, i entered through the doors… and shannon and jeremie captured every feeling that moment…..
once we spent a few moments together here, we traveled just out of vegas to red rock canyon state park. the desert was soooo amazing…. it just took our breath away seeing the huge red rock landscape. the following are the images that shannon and jeremie captured for us…. i can’t even begin to tell them how much in love we are with these images. they show what richie and i feel for each other… total, complete, overwhelming love for each other… and to be able to See what we feel for each other just makes my heart skip a beat… THANK YOU shannon and jeremie for these images… we are more thrilled with them than we could ever express…..

richie and i have spent the last couple weeks designing albums and researching who we wanted to print our wedding albums this year! today we had our main album come in and we are SOOOO happy with it! we are THRILLED to be able to offer these to our 2010 brides! ladies…. you will fall in love with this album! we also got in the mail two sample albums that are our “parent albums” and the albums that come with our new session packages. i couldn’t wait to post pics! so here goes!!…..

today richie and i had the opportunity to photograph seven day old ava. her parents, beth and alec, were so cool to meet and their love for her was written all over their faces! miss ava was soooo sweet, sleeping right through all our antics, and then waking to look around and eat a little, then right back to sleep! she definitely spoiled us! alec and beth, richie and i had a fantastic time at your place today and we hope you love your shots! i edited WAY too many, as there were so many i loved! so i know this is a long post, but …. i couldn’t pick any less to share …. <3
(and this was our first session with our new camera!! we just got our new nikon D700 last night! and we are in LOVE! thats for sure! … and we like the camera pretty well too! hehe)

it was FREEZING cold and we had bright noon sun, but we decided to get the dress on and play with some shots! i had my daughters fuzzy aero sleep pants on under my dress and richies kneehigh rubber boots on with two pairs of socks! we prob should of gotten a shot of THAT! and if only you could have seen me thrown over his shoulder with a wedding dress on and those big boots sticking up in the air, and laughing so hard i had tears falling into the snow… all so i wouldn’t get tangled in briars… i’m sure people driving by were pretty darn freaked out!! but i’m very happy with the shots he got! here are a few of my favs….
and us afterwards…. totally out of focus, camera in snow on the ground, and we had to do this via timer because we couldn’t get the camera to sense the remote for some reason, so it was press-shutter-run-thru-the-snow-one-two-three-four-five-kiss-CLICK…. but i couldn’t help but love this shot…. <3

shes growing up…

last night my oldest daughter had her valentines dance and although it was rushed, we got to do a super quick session before we left! she was so brave out there in the Freezing cold!!! mae… i can’t believe you are 13!!! i love you so much! i hope you love these shots i got for you! i am soooo proud to say you are my daughter!!! <3
